FAQ

What happens if it’s raining or looks like it’s going to rain?
• If it’s raining or looks like it will rain at the time of your appointment, we will contact you and arrange another suitable date to complete the service for you. The reason for this is the chemicals can possibly runoff into stormwater drains. This is not a good environmental practice. The other reason is that we need a dry surface to apply the pesticide effectively.
Will the pesticide wash away if it rains the day after you sprayed my house?
• No, they won’t not unless it is an extreme case like in the event of a flash flood. Once the pesticide has dried and has been applied to a dry surface. It will not wash away.
• What most people do not know, it is the sun that breaks the pesticide down over time.
• This is why we encourage pest control to be applied three times a year. Prevention is the best form of pest control.
Should I empty my kitchen cupboards prior to your arrival?
• No your Pest Control Technician will apply a gel to these areas which are often home to cockroaches. We do not apply a liquid spray in these areas.
Will my household pets be affected by the treatments you use?
• The safety of your pets is very important to us.
• The active constituent that they may come into contact with, either when it is still wet or by inhaling or ingesting, is minute.
• Fish tanks and fish ponds should covered up and pointed out to your Pest Control Technician.
• Birds should covered up and pointed out to your Pest Control Technician.
• Pet water bowls should be washed out and refilled.
What actions should I take prior to the arrival of my Pest Control Technician?
• We will need access to the room edges as it will be necessary that we spray the skirtings. We would require that you remove clothing articles, newspapers, children’s toys, etc from the ground surfaces.
Will the spray you use stain my carpet?
• No the chemical used are water based and do not contain strong solvents that are likely to cause any problems for the colouring of your carpets.
Can the spray cause any problems to humans?
• The spray we use is often used in public places such as hospitals and schools and causes no ill effects on humans.
Will I need to vacate my premises while you spray?
• Yes, when applying wet chemicals vapours are released into the air. You will need to vacate the premises for approximately 1- 2 hours. On a hot day, the waiting time should only be around 1 hour. Due to the fact, the chemicals applied will dry faster. Leaving them dry and safe to enter your premises.
My child suffers from asthma. What precautions need to be taken in this instance?
• In this instance, we recommend that your child is not present while we apply treatments but will be safe to return after 2-3 hours.
What should I do if I accidentally touch any of the areas that have been sprayed?
• This will only be a concern if the sprayed areas are still wet. Should this happen, wash with soap and water as soon as you possibly can.
Will the gel that you use on the inside of my cupboards cause any contamination to the food inside?
• We apply the gel only to places within the cupboard where insects are found. This means it will only be applied to cracks, crevices, and hinges.
Am I likely to see the return of pests after the treatment?
• It is likely that there will be an increase in pest activity up to approximately two weeks after treatment, which is a natural effect of chemicals used.
• It is possible that insects such as ants, spiders or cockroaches may venture inside your property after the two weeks. However, there is a very high likelihood that they will have crossed treated areas and will die very soon afterwards.
How often should I call on your services for treatments?
• We recommend that treatments are carried out at least twice a year depending on the environmental conditions. It is cheaper to treat as a prevention rather than treat an infestation.
Should I wash everything once the treatment sprays have evaporated?
• There is no need to do this at all as the chemical once dried has absolutely no affect on humans or pets.
I am about to have renovations on my property. At what stage of this process should I book your services?
• The best time to do this would be after the various tradespeople have completed their work and at least a couple of days before you move in.
I’m due to have my carpet cleaned when should I do this?
• It would be best for us to spray after the carpets have been cleaned or vacuumed.
